Symptom
The delivery type of third-party inbound delivery is "Supplier Delivery", however, it is showing as "Return to Supplier" in Supply Control - Monitor Purchase Orders view.
The issue occurs when the inbound delivery is created directly (e.g., via web services or manually) without an Inbound Delivery Notification UUID.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Third-Party Logistics work center.
- Go to Inbound Deliveries view.
- Search for the desired inbound delivery ID.
- Verify that the delivery type is listed as "Supplier Delivery".
- Navigate to Supply Control work center.
- Go to Monitor Purchase Orders view.
- Search for the related purchase order ID.
- Click on the Delivery Process tab.
- Observe that the delivery type of inbound delivery item is displayed as "Return to Supplier", which mismatches the "Supplier Delivery" type.
Cause
The Monitor Production Order OWL logic requires the Inbound Delivery Notification UUID to fetch the correct delivery type. For cases where the inbound delivery is created directly without an Inbound Delivery Notification UUID, the logic fails to retrieve the correct delivery type.
Resolution
The design issue in the Monitor Production Order OWL logic has been identified. Since this will require quite a big change in the OWL logic it will have to be taken up as a planned development. We have therefore created a user story for the same, and plan to take it up in one of the future releases.
As a workaround, advise users to check the delivery type inside the detailed view of the inbound delivery, as it will display correctly.
Inform users that this issue does not affect backend values or transactions.
