3660083 - Resolution for '@sap/cds' and '@sap/cds-dk' version compatibility issue

Symptom

  • When running the command `cds .add` or `cds --version`, the following error message is displayed:

"This application uses '@sap/cds' version 8.2, which is not compatible with the installed '@sap/cds-dk' version 9.
  You can either:
  - update '@sap/cds' to the latest version (recommended)
  - downgrade '@sap/cds-dk' to version 8" .

  • Attempts to downgrade '@sap/cds-dk' to versions 8 and 7 using the commands `npm i @sap/cds-dk@8` and `npm i @sap/cds-dk@7` result in the same version error message.
  • Running the command `npm i @sap/cds-dk@8.2` also fails to resolve the issue.
