3660088 - Unable to use "Quick Create" to set product of item category group "NORM" in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

When attempting to use the "Quick Create" feature in the "Manage Service Orders" app, products with the item category group "NORM" are not displayed in the value help.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Manage Service Orders" app.
  2. Use the "Quick Create" feature to create a service order.
  3. Attempt to select a product with an item category group configured for materials.
  4. Observe that the product of item category group "NORM" is not displayed in the value help. 

Cause

The "Quick Create" feature utilizes a specialized value help for product selection, filtering products with the item category group DIEN (services) and excluding those with the group NORM (materials).
This design is intended for the fast and simplified creation of service orders, typically used by service agents or field technicians who need to create orders quickly with minimal input. Since products with the item category group NORM often require additional logistics, pricing, and fulfillment details, they are excluded from "Quick Create" to streamline the process and ensure data consistency.

In contrast, the full service order creation process employs a different value help without this restriction. 

Resolution

For service orders involving materials, the full creation process is recommended.
