Symptom
- For non-UDM sites, category pages display incorrect jobs
- Additional jobs are shown on the page that are not displayed in the rule test results.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing
Reproducing the Issue
- Access a non-UDM site.
- Navigate to a category page.
- Compare the displayed jobs on the category page with the test rule results in CSB
- Observe that additional jobs appear on the category page that are not present in the test rule results.
Cause
The category import process (CSB Editor>Tools>Import & Export>Category) had a defect prior to 2021.
The import logic was since rewritten, preventing this issue, but erroneous category rule entries still remained in the database.
When new categories are created, if their id happens to coincide with the old rule's category key, then this rule is activated, resulting in 2 rows (and 2 different sets of rules) being associated to the same category and causing additional results to be shown on the site.
Resolution
A code fix is created and planned to be deployed with the next release (1H2026) to ensure such irrelevant rules are ignored.
Problematic category pages can be recreated as this will assign a new ID which is unlikely to match any obsolete rules.
