Symptom

Error message M3 004 "The alternative units of measure are inconsistent" occurs during the simulation phase of the object "Product" in the Migration Cockpit app.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Migrate Your Data" app.
  2. Choose a project with migration object "Product".
  3. Select the object "Product".
  4. Simulate the data load with a template file filled with Alternative Units of Measure that are inconsistent.

Cause

The numerator and denominator values for alternative Units of Measure in the template file are either inconsistent or do not match the values configured in SSCUI 102179 "Check Units of Measurement (Configure Unit of Measure)".

Resolution

Ensure that the denominator and numerator values for alternative units of measure in the payload match the Numerator and Denominator set in SSCUI 102179 "Check Units of Measurement (Configure Unit of Measure)" for that specific Alternative Unit of Measure in the template file provided to the migration project.
