3661279 - "SUM folder belongs to root or has root files" error occurs when using sudo command

Symptom

When using sudo command to run STARTUP or SUMSTART to register SUM for SAP Host Agent, the following error occurs:

$ sudo /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/STARTUP <SID>
or
$ sudo <SUM directory>/abap/SUMSTART confighostagent

**** SUM folder belongs to root or has root files! 
**** Aborting! 
**** See list of first 10 locations with redundant root privileges 
/dev/fd
