Symptom
- When assigning individual notice rule to either 'Contractor' or 'Contractee' as the 'Party Giving Notice' in a Real Estate Contract, either error is shown:
- RETMPE052 - 'The notice procedure does not contain a rule for the contractor'
- RETMPE051 - 'The notice procedure does not contain a rule for the contractee'
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a real estate contract with an Individual Notice Rule.
- In the Individual Notice Rule, assign the "Party Giving Notice" as "Contractor" or "Contractee".
- Observe the error messages:
- RETMPE052 - 'The notice procedure does not contain a rule for the contractor'
- RETMPE051 - 'The notice procedure does not contain a rule for the contractee'
Cause
Intended system design - The notice rule assumes both parties should have the ability to give notice.
Resolution
- Ensure that notice rules are assigned for both contract parties (Contractor and Contractee), either individually or together.
- If one party is not allowed to give notice, set up an additional deadline rule with a date far in the future or the contract end date for the respective contract partner.
- Verify that both notice rules are correctly assigned to avoid the error messages.
