Symptom

When creating remote table from Microsoft SQL Server connection in SAP Datasphere, the following error is displayed: 

"errorgetCSNDefinition: invalid remote object name: TYPE ‘table’ is not supported.: line 0 col 0 (at pos 0), Code: 476, SOL State: HY000"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In the Data Builder app, try to import a remote table 
  2. The import fails with the error "errorgetCSNDefinition: invalid remote object name: TYPE ‘table’ is not supported.: line 0 col 0 (at pos 0), Code: 476, SOL State: HY000"

Cause

The Microsoft SQL Server data type "TABLE" is not supported for Microsoft SQL Server Log Reader.

Resolution

Working as designed.
