3661719 - 'Create Attachment' option missing under Services for Object in Create Purchase Order – Advanced app after HDM Enablement

• In the Create Purchase Order – Advanced app, the “Create Attachment” option under Services for Object (GOS) is missing.
• Users can still display existing attachments if they were created earlier, but new attachments cannot be added from GOS.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• When HDM is enabled for object type PURCHASEORDER (via customizing 105346 SSCUI), attachment handling switches from classic GOS to Document Management Services (DMS).

• In the delivered configuration:

  • DMS = Active

  • GOS = Restricted

• With GOS set to Restricted, the system allows:

  • Display of existing attachments, but

  • No creation of new attachments via Services for Object.

• New attachments must instead be uploaded via the Documents tab using the DMS framework.

Option 1: Use the Standard DMS Framework

• Users should create new attachments under the Documents tab in the PO header. 

Option 2: Restore Full GOS Functionality

• If users require the “classic” GOS behavior (ability to create attachments under Services for Object):
  • Adjust configuration in SSCUI 105346 – Activate HDM for Attachment Object Types.
  • For object PURCHASEORDER, remove the Restricted flag for GOS.
• This restores full GOS functionality alongside DMS.

Configuration Details – SSCUI 105346 (Activate HDM for Attachment Object Types)- To activate or deactivate HDM functionality for an attachment object type:

1. Go to SSCUI 105346 – Activate HDM for Attachment Object Types. 
2. In the Change View “Activate HDM for Attachment Object Types”: Overview screen:
   • Select the Attachment Object Type (e.g., PURCHASEORDER).
   • Set the Activate flag to enable HDM.
   • Clear the flag to deactivate HDM.
3. Click Save.

To activate document frameworks for an attachment object type:

1. In the same SSCUI, navigate to Activate Document Frameworks.
2. In the Change View “Activate Document Frameworks”: Overview screen:
   • Select one or more document frameworks (e.g., GOS, DMS).
   • Deactivate a framework if required.
3. Click Save.

To maintain restricted and default document types:

1. From Activate Document Frameworks, choose Maintain Default and Restricted Document Types.
2. In the Change View “Maintain Default and Restricted Document Types”: Overview screen:
   • Select the Restricted flag for document types you want to restrict.
   • Select the Default flag to indicate the default document type for an attachment object type.
   • Only one default can be maintained per attachment object type, across all frameworks.
3. Click Save.
