3661783 - 500 SAP Internal Server Error Dump When Creating a Service Order

Symptom

When trying to create an Utilities Service Order in SAP Cloud for Customer, a dump with the message 500 SAP Internal Server Error is raised.

The error message might also vary to Exception Occurred: An error occurred. Try resuming your work. If you still face issues, open an case.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Customer work center.
  2. Open the Individual Customer screen with the ID.
  3. Go to the service order facet.
  4. Click the "new" button to create a service order.
  5. Observe the dump error.

Cause

A custom field (KUT) was created in the service order tab where a default value has been set. For Utilities Solution, the system does not support defaulting values for the custom fields.

Resolution

Remove the default value from the KUT Field. If the field is not editable from the create screen, add the same extension field in the display table and edit the field definition to remove the default value.
