3661787 - Error "XXXXXX is a required field/association in Object Employee Time" when approving leave request

Symptom

Error messages encountered during approval of pending leave request:

  • " XXXXX required field/association in Object Employee Time.", where XXXXX refers to a field in Employee Time object.

Environment

SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Proxy as the affected manager.
  2. Attempt to approve the leave request for the affected user.
  3. Observe the error messages related to required fields in the Employee Time object.

Cause

  • Updates made to the Employee Time object while the leave request was pending, changing the required attribute for specific fields, which were not present or were not filled in at the time the leave request was created.

Resolution

  1. Cancel the pending leave request from Administer Time UI.
  2. Request the leave again, which should enable the requester to fill in the required fields.
