3661892 - Tables on HANA are larger on disk than observed memory consumed during table loads

Symptom

  • A table in SAP HANA consumes significantly less memory compared to its size on disk.
  • Manual attempts to load the table into memory using the "LOAD TABLE INTO MEMORY" do not make the memory size match the disk size. 
  • SQL statements executed to reclaim data space or perform delta merges do not resolve the discrepancy.
