3662338 - Purchase Requisition remains in status "PO Created" after referenced PO item is deleted (S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition)

Symptom

After creating a Purchase Requisition (PR) and converting a PR line into a Purchase Order (PO) line, deleting the PO line does not reset or recalculate the PR status. The PR remains in status “PO Created” even though there is no active PO item linked to the PR.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Purchase Requisition (PR) and note the PR status (for example, Not Edited).

  2. Create a Purchase Order (PO) from the PR item (use standard create-from‑requisition flow). Observe the PR status updates to the PO created (B).

  3. Remove or delete the PO item that referenced the PR line items.

  4. Open the original PR and observe the status — it remains indicating a PO was created despite the PO item removal.

Cause

This is standard system behavior.

Resolution

Though the PO item may be deleted in the Manage Purchase Orders app, it can still be undeleted. Therefore, the system retains the link between the PO and the referenced PR until the PO is archived. For this reason, the PR status is not automatically reset when a PO item is removed.
