SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Create an intercompany sales order in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
2. Assign item category CBIC to the sales order.
3. Attempt to trigger a production order directly from the intercompany sales order.
4. Observe that the system does not allow production order creation due to locked item category CBIC.

Design limitation:

• Is stated in the official SAP Help Portal for Advanced Intercompany Sales:
  • “Item category CBIC has no logistical relevance.”
• CBIC is delivered as a restricted intercompany sales order, intended only for intercompany billing and pricing.
• In Public Cloud, item category determination for CBIC is locked and cannot be extended.
• This is working as designed to ensure consistency and avoid data conflicts in intercompany processes.
