Symptom

  • Transporting configurable products to a destination system always creates a new version.
  • Is it possible to delete new versions?

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Transport a configurable product to the destination system.
  2. Observe that a new version is created.

Cause

The creation of new versions when transporting configurable products to the destination system is designed to prevent database corruption.

Resolution

  1. Understand that the system is functioning as intended, and it is not possible to disable the creation of new versions of configurable products.
  2. Use the item workflow to streamline the process of updating quotes to the latest version.
