3663090 - The Error "Referenced quote XYZ is Not a Service Quote" is Displayed When Using the Option Create With Reference to Pull the Information for the Service Order

While creating a Service Order with the option Create with Reference, the error "Referenced quote XYZ is not a service quote." is displayed in the UI.

1. Go to the Service Order Work Center.
2. Go to the Service Order Processing View.
3. Select the New -> Service Order.
4. Select View All. (OIF: Object Instance Floorplan)
5. Select Create with Reference button.
6. In the Reference Type, select Contract.
7. In the Reference ID, enter XYZ. 

The error "Referenced quote XYZ is not a service quote." is displayed in the UI

The error message "Referenced quote XYZ is not a service quote" is triggered exclusively when using the "Create with Reference" option in View All Mode during the creation of a Service Order Document. 

The error message appears not only when using the Contract as a reference to create a new Service Order but also when other document types, such as Service Orders, Sales Orders, and Service Requests, are used as references. The only exception in this case are the Service Quotes (which can be selected as reference even in View All Mode).

This was a technical design gap of the system prior to Release 2605.

Prior to Release 2605, as a workaround, it was recommend to use the functionality Create with Reference in the overview screen during the creation of the Service Order.

This process can be performed through the following steps:

1. Go to the Service Order Work Center
2. Go to the Service Order Processing View
3. Select the New -> Service Order (QAF: Quick Activity Floor Plan)
4. Select Create with Reference button
5. In the Reference Type, select Contract 
6. In the Reference ID, enter XYZ
7. Select View All

The information from the Contract XYZ will be correctly carried for the new Service Order to be created.

With Release 2605 you can use the functionality Create with Reference for Contracts, Quotes, Service Orders and Service Request when clicking on View All (OIF: Object Instance Floorplan).
