Symptom
During a U.S. federal government shutdown, attempts to create E-Verify cases in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding and Onboarding 1.0 result in error messages. Despite the error, an E-Verify process record is still created in the system. These cases may appear as "Overdue" but are not truly overdue.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
- SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0
Cause
US government temporary shutdown of state services
Resolution
This behavior is expected during a federal government shutdown due to the temporary unavailability of E-Verify services. Once services resume, customers must take the following actions to ensure compliance:
-
Access each E-Verify case that was attempted during the shutdown period.
-
Manually resubmit each affected case to E-Verify.
-
Disregard any "Overdue" status shown in Onboarding or Onboarding 1.0, as these are system-generated and not reflective of E-Verify’s actual status.
-
No monitoring of E-Verify case status is required during the shutdown.
SAP will continue to provide updates and reminders when E-Verify services are restored.
