• While creating a custom field for the business context "Accounting: Coding Block," an error message is displayed: "Field cannot be created. Business context capacity is exhausted."
• The error prevents the creation of additional custom fields once the business context capacity is fully utilized.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Navigate to the "Custom Fields" application in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
2. Attempt to create a new custom field for the business context "Accounting: Coding Block."
3. Observe the error message: "Field cannot be created. Business context capacity is exhausted."

The business context "Accounting: Coding Block" has reached its maximum capacity for custom fields. This limitation occurs because enabling a new business scenario inside a custom field consumes the capacity of the selected business context.

The capacity to add extension fields to data base tables or business contexts, respectively, is limited due to DDIC and data base limitations. Therefore, each application maintains quotas in the extensibility registry for the number of fields and characters which can be added to a business context.

When utilizing the currently available space for adding the custom field the Business Context Capacity indicator suggest the amount of space left.

1. Review the existing custom fields within the "Accounting: Coding Block" business context.
2. Identify and delete unused custom fields to release capacity as the current limit cannot be extended.
3. Monitor the "Business context capacity" bar while adding new fields to ensure the percentage used does not exceed the limit.
4. If deletion of unused fields is not feasible, consider using an alternative extensibility option, such as the "Accounting: Journal Entry Item" business context, which may provide similar functionality.
