3663725 - Error: "Unable to retrieve insights" when generating insights for Compensation Information records (last 3 years)

Symptom

An error occurs when attempting to use the "Generate Insights" feature in Compensation.
The error message displayed is: "Unable to retrieve insights. Your request couldn’t be processed due to an error. Please contact your system administrator for assistance."
The issue persists despite following the workaround provided in KBA 3599165 - Compensation Insights Generated Data query.

Reproducing the Issue

Navigate to the test user.
Go to Compensation.
Click on "Generate Insights."
Observe the error message: "Unable to retrieve insights. Your request couldn’t be processed due to an error. Please contact your system administrator for assistance."

Cause

The issue occurred because the subject user did not have any compensation information record within the last three years.

Navigate to the test user.
Go to Compensation.
click on History
For This example Test for Generate Insights. on October 2, 2020.1 The most recent record available was dated January 1, 2020.
Result: No eligible compensation records exist for the selected employee(s) in the last three years.

Resolution

Add a compensation information record with an effective start date (ESD) within the last three years. For example, an ESD of January 1, 2025, can be added without any changes.
Test the process again to confirm that the "Generate Insights" feature works as expected.

In order to prioritize relevant data inputs, such data is pulled from up to the previous 3 years. In particular, the top 10 most recent changes for Compensation Information are used as the basis for processing, which contributes to the AI-generated insights. This behaviour will be changed with Post Release B2511 The AI-generated insights are generated using data from employee compensation data and employee job data. In order to prioritize relevant data inputs, such data is pulled from up to the previous 3 years. In particular, the top 10 most recent changes for Compensation Information and Job Information are used as the basis for processing, which contributes to the AI-generated insights.

In cases where there are no records in the History UI, then the system considers the latest active record as of today's date. The system considers any position-related data included in Job Information, independent of whether Position Management is enabled in the system or not.

The system doesn't consider data from the Notes field for the insights. Any notes are specific to each record and do not necessarily apply to the previous or next compensation record. Also, it is a free text field in which the content might not be related to compensation, meaning it would be unnecessarily considered for the insights.
