3663849 - Manager value resets in Job Information Quick Action - 2H 2025

While using Job Information Quick Action like Promotion and Manager field is defaulted by position and you have onchange rules in manager field, system resets the manager value based on position selection and does not allow you to overwrite the value.

Please note that this defect was found on following circumstances: 

• Manager Defaulting is enabled and Position Hierarchy is leading hierarchy within Position Management Settings
• Manager-Id has an onChange rule configured in Manage Business Configuration -> JobInfo
• Configure Quick Action like Promotion with fields Position and Manager enabled

• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Job Information

1. Select an employee and start quick action Promotion
2. change the employees position to another position which has parent position with a valid manager
   Note: that the manager is defaulted correctly
3. Now try overwrite the manager defaulted value by changing the manager selected by the position.

Result: The manager field is defaulted again based on position, system does not allow you to change the manager and overwrite the value defaulted by position.
