3663875 - Remapping HDI containers to a different tenant in SAP Datasphere

Symptom

  • Users are unable to add an available HDI containers in the new tenant environment after adding the same instance mapping as the previous tenant.
  • HDI containers can only be mapped to one tenant at a time, and there is no option to modify an existing HDI container to change the tenant mapping.

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Cause

  • HDI containers are tenant-specific and cannot be modified to change their tenant mapping.

Resolution

It is not possible to reuse an HDI container in another datasphere tenant. See details at Using HDI Containers with SAP Datasphere

Build one or more new HDI containers in the SAP Business Technology Platform Space and they will be created in the SAP Datasphere run-time database (identified by the Database ID on the SAP Datasphere About dialog).

After you have mapped your new DSP tenant, you would need to create new HDI container and assign it in your new DSP tenant.

The ‘old’ and the ‘new’ HDI containers are completely independent and are expected to be created in different HANA instances.
