3663908 - ABAPAdapter remote source returns authorization error despite having assigned the required authorizations - SAP SDI

Symptom

  • An ABAPAdapter remote source returns authorization error. Logs in framework.trc show:
    • ABAPAdapter | ABAPAdapter$6.run [] - Error while trying to preload table and description dictionary : com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (104) JCO_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: You are not authorized to perform this activity (raised by system <system information>) Message 018 of class S# type E 
  • Checking through SU53 in the source system shows missing authorization S_SDSS.
  • After assigning S_SDSS to the remote source user, the same error is still faced.
