3664020 - Offsetting account and offsetting account type empty during substitution rule execution in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Offsetting account and offsetting account type fields are empty during substitution rule execution in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

1. In “Custom Fields” app, create custom fields with the Accounting: Journal Entry Item business context and Publish
    
2. In “Manage Substitution and Validation Rules for Journal Entries” app, create Substitution Rule with the Journal Entry Item business context. 
   
3. Set custom fields to be substituted with the field OffsettingAccount/ OffsettingAccountType. Save and Activate the rule.
    
4. Set Substitution/Validation Log for Event Journal Entry Item, Logging Level ID Detailed
5. Post a journal entry using the Create Incoming Invoice app:
6. Check Substitution Log, OffsettingAccount is blank during Substitution execution
    

The Offsetting Account Determination process is executed after the Substitution for Journal Entry Item. Consequently, fields such as Offsetting Account and Offsetting Account Type are not accessible during the substitution process for Journal Entry Items.

• Use Substitution BAdI FIN_ACDOC_EXT_SUBSTITUTION instead, which is executed after Offsetting Account Determination.
  • Offsetting Account Type is not available in this BAdI. Account Type FINANCIALACCOUNTTYPE can used as an alternative.
