3664378 - Discrepancies in record counts when generating Learning History reports in SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Discrepancies in the number of records when executing Learning History report of completed courses in the SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System. The same report, when executes on different dates with the same completed date rage filter, shows an increasing number of records.

Example:

• Report executed on October 1, 2025, with filters (Completed Date From: September/01/2025, Completed Date To: September/30/2025) contains 1,220 records.
• Report executed on October 5, 2025, with the same filters contains 1,230 records, showing a difference of 10 records.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Access Learning Administration.
2. Navigate to Reports -> Search for 'Learning History CSV'.
3. Apply the following filters: Completed Date From: September 1, 2025 , Completed Date To: September 30, 2025-> Run the report.
4. Run the report after few date with the same completion date range filter -> Count the records comparing both reports 

This behavior is identified as expected when generating the report with the completion date range filter.

The behavior observed in the report occurs when there is a difference between the "completion date" and the "last update time" fields for users. To clarify: The "completion date" represents when the content was completed. The "last update time" indicates when the item was successfully completed or moved to the learning history. 

For example, if the "completion date" is September 29, 2025, but the "last update time" is October 2, 2025, running the Learning History report on October 1, 2025, with a completion date range of September 2025 (from 1 to 30) would exclude these records. This happens because the report filter considers course completion based on the "last update time" when filtering by the "completion date range".

This situation can arise in the following scenarios:

1. A survey linked to the item is marked as required for course completion, and the user completes the survey at a later time.
2. An admin manually records a course completion with a past "completion date" and a future "last update time".
