3664519 - Deleting an incorrect split assignment (parent assignment) after hiring employee into wrong policy profile

Incorrect initial data in the HR system, or incorrect mappings, can cause an employee to be hired into the wrong policy profile. When this is corrected, it may cause a split assignment to be created to move this employee into the correct profile. The data is correct going forward, but that first assignment should never have existed, and may be causing some issues right around the hire date. This goes through the process on how to manually remove that assignment that should not have existed. Be aware that there is no script based solution for this case, as it can only remove the latest assignment.

CAUTION: This procedure will result in the time sheet of the prior split assignment being no longer viewable (and recorded time lost), so bear this in mind. It is highly recommended that the customer make a backup copy of any time sheet data they need to keep prior to taking either approach. This is especially true if clocks are in use, as reprocessing swipes may not be simple since they will be associated with the new assignment that is being deleted.
