3664639 - Pending Learning cards on the BizX home page > Inactive Learning account

Symptom

  • User manually deactivated in Learning by a Learning Administrator remains active on BizX and the Learning cards are still available on the BizX home page. The manager sees this team member's pending Learning cards on the BizX home page.

  • User has multiple employments, and one or some user IDs in Learning were manually deactivated by a Learning Administrator, while the accounts remain active on BizX. For the accounts that were inactivated in Learning, the Learning cards are still available on the BizX home page, and the managers see the team members’ pending Learning cards on the BizX home page.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Cause

As per the Product Management and Engineering teams, the cards feature on the BizX home page is designed for scenarios where the user data is maintained in sync across the suite. For example: If the account is active in BizX, it’d be active in Learning, and vice-versa.

Learning shouldn’t send back information to the BizX home page if the user is manually deactivated in Learning because the normal process would be that a user is inactive in BizX first, then updated in Learning via connector.

Resolution

When multiple employments exist, using Employee Central and Person Based Learning (feature planned for future releases) ensures accurate handling of user data. If these aren’t fully utilized, or partially only, there’s a risk that data may be duplicated or displayed in unintended ways.

To clean up the user’s learning plan via connector, and consequently, remove the Learning cards on BizX, the "sfuser.connector.inactiveRule.cleanDevPlan" | "user.connector.inactiveRule.cleanDevPlan" CONNECTOR configuration should be “Y” for the User Connector or the User Connector - SF, as explained in the KBA 2305693.

For users who might be already impacted, the following approaches can be reviewed and worked on to have the cards removed from the BizX home page:

  • Option 1:
  1. Learning Administration >
  2. Set the inactive Learning account to active >
  3. Manually remove the assignments >
  4. Confirm the cards were removed >
  5. After that, if desired, the Learning account can be inactivated again.
  • Option 2:
  1. As the accounts are active in BizX, have the impacted Learning accounts active via the User Connector – SF, running it once, or use the Import Data feature in Learning >
  2. With that, the Learning accounts should be active >
  3. Then, set the "sfuser.connector.inactiveRule.cleanDevPlan" | "user.connector.inactiveRule.cleanDevPlan" CONNECTOR configuration to “Y” for the User Connector or the User Connector - SF, as explained in the KBA 2305693 >
  4. Create a User Connector/User Connector – SF file and run it to have the impacted Learning accounts inactivated >
  5. With "sfuser.connector.inactiveRule.cleanDevPlan=Y" | "user.connector.inactiveRule.cleanDevPlan=Y", these users’ learning plan should be cleared too >
  6. The user’s manager should have the Learning cards cleared from the BizX home page within some minutes.
