3664688 - How to Update the Main E-mail Address of An Account via Mass Data Maintenance

While exporting and editing the CSV file of an account, it was noticed that there is no field indicating the main communication method of the account.

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Navigate to the Account Management work center.
2. Search for the required Account and open it.
3. In the General view, scroll down to the communication email fields.
4. Attempt to use the Mass Data Maintenance tool or web service to update the main email address.
5. Observe that there is no option to specify or update the Email address from Main Communication.

The system behavior is as designed.
The mass data maintenance tool and web service do not include a flag or column to indicate or update the main email address.

Although the template does not have the flag Main Communication, it can be identified by checking the Address UUID column, where if it does not starts with FA, than it would be the Main Communication.
However, if the E-mail from Main Communication is updated via Mass Data Maintenance, the same will be updated in the frontend.
Use the following steps to update the Main Email address via the Mass Data Maintenance tool:

1. Navigate to the Mass Data Maintenance work center.
2. Select "Customer" and specify any relevant filters.
3. Click "Go" to display the data in tabular format.
4. Select the "Address" tab and export the data to a local file.
5. Open the exported file, locate the email address field, and update the desired email addresses.
6. Save the updated file.
7. Import the updated data back into the system:
8. Click "Import Customers." in the Mass Data Maintenance view.
9. Upload the updated file and execute the data import.
10. Verify that the main email address has been updated in the account management section.
