3666094 - Output Status remains 'in preparation' until sales document is modified in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• When creating a Sales Order or Sales Quotation, the output status changes to "in preparation," even when the dispatch time is set to immediate.
• The Sales Document is only printed, and the status switches to "completed" after the document is changed (e.g., Shipping Conditions or ATP run).
• If the temporary output item is displayed before creating the Sales Document, the output item remains in "preparation" with the error log "not relevant for output."
• If the temporary output item is not displayed, the file is printed immediately.

S/4HANA: Output Control on Sales Documents (Public Cloud)

1. Open "Manage Sales Orders V2" and start creating a new Sales Order (OR).
2. Apply Sold to Party, Cust-Reference, and Shipping Conditions.
3. Add a Material (e.g., ABCDEF).
4. Without clicking the "create" button, navigate to Output Items.
5. Select "Update Output Items."
6. Observe that the Output Item appears with the status "in preparation."
7. Display the file to check.
8. Close the file.
9. Click "create" on the bottom right.

Result:  

• The output item remains in the status "preparation" with the error log "not relevant for output."
• If the temporary output item is not displayed, the file is printed immediately.

A known issue which arises when clicking the 'Update output items' button in the V2 APP to preview the documents. The preview version may differ from the completed version, especially when data source extension fields are introduced.  However, the document sent out is accurate. It's important to note the final document sent out cannot be altered, even if the preview appears incorrect 

Development are currently working on the software correction for this issue, in the interim refrain from clicking the 'Update output items' button in the V2 app until the fix is available. If the preview is required for the document before you save the document, use APP 'Create Sales Orde(Va01) instead.
