3666258 - Dependents throw error in Latest People Profile - 2H 2025

When trying to save Dependents information via Edit mode for Latest People Profile system throws following error:

Maximum length for the Person ID field is X characters.

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile
  • Latest People Profile

Make sure following switch is ON - “Enable the latest Editing and History UI for Employee Central HRIS entities on Full Profile” in Configure Latest People Profile > General Settings

1. Go employee profile -> Select Dependents portlet
2. choose one dependent, click edit and select current date to edit
3. update some fields and save

Result: Error is shown

This is an error on Dependents Edit screen on Latest People Profile version when Person Id External has Maximum length defined in Business Configuration.

To review it, please go to Admin Center -> Manage Business Configuration -> personInfo -> person_id_external -> the length limitation set to X.

This is a known issue for 2H 2025 release, however this is going to be corrected in 1H 2026 release via code correction.

Workaround: Please go to Manage Business Configuration and remove or extend the Maximum Length of the Person id External field.
