3666709 - Error: Benefit Incorrect Period Configuration During Life Event Reporting KI1H2026

Symptom

  • When creating an exception for insurance using Life Event Report, the failed error BENEFIT_INCORRECT_PERIOD_CONFIGURATION appears in the event log.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Global Benefits

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Ensure that an enrollment exists for the employee.
  2. Navigate to the employee’s profile and select Benefits.
  3. Select Report a Life Event, input the required information, submit the life event, and close the screen.
  4. Go to Benefits Overview.
  5. Review the event log generated under Benefits Admin Overview.
  6. Observe the failed values in the event log with Log ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Cause

  • The issue occurs when reporting a life event when multiple periods are configured. For a single period, the scenario is already handled correctly.  Example: Life event dated August 17, 2025, which falls within the open/close enrollments dates of the 2025 period. Second Period (XXX2026).

Resolution

  1. As a workaround, remove the second period.
  2. Trigger the life event after removing the second period.
  3. Once the enrollment is completed, add the second period back.

  • The permanent fix for this issue is scheduled for the 1H 2026 release.
