You are facing the "Unable to understand API request with character sequence" error when sorting a field in Integration Center.

The error occurs because Integration Center sends a `/*/` character in the API request when there are one-to-many associations, which leads to the issue.

There are two possible solutions to address the issue:

1. Apply a Field Filter based on this example. This will resolve the one-to-many association issue.
2. Use a different field that does not involve a one-to-many association for sorting.
