3667717 - Issues with Contract Item Start/End Dates when using Expense Item Group Product in Quote for Contract

When using an Expense Item Group Product in a Quote for Contract, the following issues are observed:

1. The Contract Item Start/End Dates are not inherited from the Quote Header to the Item when an Item is added.

2. When manually entering Contract Item Start/End Dates for an Item and then selecting “Add Row” to add another Item, the system dumps.

3. When manually entering Contract Item Start/End Dates for an Item and clicking “Save”, the system removes the entered dates automatically.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to New Business work center
2. Go to View: Sales Quotes
3. Create New -> Quote for Contract
4. Enter the following: Account and relevant information. 
5. Navigate to Items tab and add the product whose Item group is "Expense".

Issue 1: Contract Item Start/End dates are not automatically taken over from the header

Issue 2: Choose Add Row then Dump occurs

Issue 3: If another item is not being added however instead choose Save. The manually entered Start and End Dates of the Item are automatically removed by the system

This is System limitation for Item group "Expense".

The recommended work around to create the quote for contract, please follow the below steps:

1. Go to New Business work center
2. View: New Quote for contract and click on View all.
3. In Items tab enter the Non-expense item first and from second row you can add the expense item.
4. Check the contract start date and end date, for both items, it is populated.

This requirement has been implemented with Release 2602.
With Release 2602, the Contract Item Start/End Dates will be automatically aligned with the Contract Start/End Dates defined at the header level.  
Please note that due to a limitation the Contract Item Start/End Dates cannot be changed: If the Contract Item Start/End Dates is changed, the system will automatically redetermine the Contract Start/End Dates defined at the header level when the change is saved. However, they can be changed in the follow up documents.
