3667860 - Certificate Error when submitting E-Bilanz to Tax Authority

Symptom

Validation has been successfully completed, but a certificate error occurs when submitting the E-Bilanz to the Tax Authority.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the E-Bilanz Template Excel.
  2. Navigate to the SAP ERP client for E-Bilanz tab.
  3. Click on "Direkte Übermittlung".
  4. Encounter an error indicating the need to choose a certificate.

Cause

  • To submit the E-Bilanz to the Tax Authorities, the required certificate must be loaded from the Elster Online Portal.
  • Also in the Settings ("Einstellungen") tab "Echtfall" needs to be selected.

Resolution

  1. Open Excel and load the E-Bilanz Template.
  2. Navigate to tab SAP ERP Client for E-Bilanz.
  3. Select the "Einstellungen" tab.
  4. Choose the tab labeled "Transferdaten".
  5. Under "Testmerker" select "Echtfall" from the dropdown menu.
  6. Switch to the tab "Übermittlung".
  7. Under "Zertifikat" load the certificate from the Elster Portal (first you need to create an account in Elster Online, then download the certificate "Portalzertifikat" which has a file ending *.pfx).
  8. Press Speichern.
  9. Click "Direkte Übermittlung".
