Symptom
- Health National Card Number (genericNumber8) for Brazil does not accept leading zeroes.
- The government is unifying the Health National Card Number (CNS) with the National Id Card (CPF), which may have leading zeroes.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- In the profile or Add New Employee, go to Dependents Section.
- Add a Family Member.
- Click to add Global Information.
- Select Brazil and locate the field "Health National Card Number".
- Input a value starting with "0", such as "0030".
- Observe that the leading zero is removed upon clicking outside the field.
Cause
The field configuration for "genericNumber8" does not support leading zeroes, which conflicts with the updated legal requirement for the Health National Card Number to align with the National Id Card (CPF).
Resolution
- Engineering has validated the issue and confirmed the need for a change in the system.
- Due to database compatibility issues, a new field will be enabled to store the updated format. The new field is not yet confirmed, but it should be available on 1H2026 release (first half-year release of 2026).
- As an interim workaround, create a custom-string in Brazil global information to store the data.
