3668046 - Inbound Monitoring : “MIME Type not supported”, when processing an inbound email

Symptom

  • An email was not processed as expected in SAP Service Cloud Version 2.
  • Error message encountered: "MIME type not supported".
  • The email contained an inline image with MIME type application/x-ms-wmz, which is not a standard supported inline image type.
  • The MIME structure observed was:
  • multipart/related
    • └── multipart/alternative
    • ├── text/plain
    • ├── text/html
    • ├── image/png
    • └── application/x-ms-wmz (unsupported inline image)
  • Some inline images were present but were not referenced in the HTML content.
  • This may occur even though the email body content and most attachments are successfully processed.
