3668123 - [COE0020] You can't submit digital signatures as a proxy user while submitting e-signature

The user is unable to complete the e-signature process when acting as a proxy for another user. The developer tools show the message: 'You can’t submit digital signatures as a proxy user' [COE0020]

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Trigger the e-signature process.
2. Proxy as the responsible user.
3. Navigate to the E-Signature step.
4. Attempt to submit the signature, clicking in "submit".
5. Open the developer tool and observe the error message: “You can’t submit digital signatures as a proxy user” [COE0020].

Expected Behavior

This is an expected behavior after the recent release. Due to security enhancements, proxy users can no longer submit digital signatures on behalf of others.

To proceed, the assigned user must log in directly to complete the digital signature. This change was also communicated in the SAP Community as part of the recent security update and 2H 2025 release has introduced changed to the proxy functionality in SuccessFactors to enhance security within the system.
