How to Import User roles from One instance to another (ex: test to production)

Use the export data tool to export data from the source environment.

1. Under System Admin > System Management Tools > Export Data, the option only has Admin Role
2. Select a User or Instructor role > Exporting the role > The exported file only has the header line

Note: The current system design does not support exporting User/Instructor Role permissions in the Learning Management System (LMS).

As a workaround, manually copy and paste the User/Instructor Role permissions from the User Interface and save them in a text file as a backup.

And then Import the data into the target environment using the import data tool.
