• The error message is: "Execution for step1 of data action on version failed due to a technical error."
• The user impacted is using custom role based on Planning Standard license could run data actions without currency conversion successfully.
• When executing a data action with currency conversion, an error occurred.
• Creating a role based on Planning Professional license allowed the same data action with currency conversion to run successfully.

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Log in as user with the Admin right and execute the data action. The data action runs successfully.
2. Log in as another user with the Planning Standard license role and execute the same data action. The error occurs.

Users with a Planning Standard license can execute data actions that do not involve currency conversion. However, when a data action includes currency conversion, the process fails because this functionality is not supported with the Planning Standard license.

1. Assign a Planning Professional license to the affected user.
2. Test the data action again with the Planning Professional license.
3. Confirm that the data action including currency conversion executes successfully.
