3668895 - GSTR1: error occurs while generating gstr1 report in GSTN Number

Symptom

An error occurs when generating the GSTR1 report from Run Statutory Reports app. Error: "Value is not of the min. required length 15".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Run Statutory Reports app.
  2. Select GSTR1 reporting tasks.
  3. Go to report generation activity
  4. Run the report clicking 'New Run' button.
  5. Observed the error in the 'Error log'.

Resolution

According to GST legal format, the length of GSTIN number is 15 characters. Make sure that the GSTIN Number is maintained correctly in Business Partner level.

Follow the below steps to maintain the GSTN Number in the Business Partner,

  1. Open 'Maintain Business Partner' app.
  2. Go to the 'Identification' tab.
  3. In the Tax Number maintain the GSTN Number by choosing the 'Category' as 'IN3'.
