3668949 - Requirement of Shortened Fiscal Year Variant in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• Attempting to configure a Shortened Fiscal Year (August to XX) via the SSCUI "Maintain Fiscal Year Variants" does not display any option to define a Shortened Fiscal Year.
• Questions raised regarding whether the Shortened Fiscal Year functionality is supported or not in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Attempt to shift the fiscal year to August to XX by introducing a Shortened Fiscal Year.
2. Use the SSCUI "Maintain Fiscal Year Variants" to configure the Shortened Fiscal Year.
3. Observe that no option to define a Shortened Fiscal Year is available.

• Setting the fiscal year variant in the system is a one time event during the specify primary finance settings project as part of the scoping phase and this value cannot be changed after initial scoping:  
• Shortened Fiscal Year functionality is not supported in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

1. Confirm that the fiscal year variant is a one-time decision made during the Scope and Organizational Structure phase of system implementation and cannot be altered post-activation.
2. Acknowledge that Shortened Fiscal Year functionality is not supported in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
3. The fiscal year variant selected initially will apply to the entire system and can't be changed after it has been activated.
