Symptom

This KBA will cover the new LinkedIn Recruiting System Connect feature introduced as part of the 2H 2025 release, including its limitations and known issues.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

The synchronization of data from SuccessFactors Preview/Test environment is link to the LinkedIn production system. Therefore, if you decide to sync data from your preview/test instance to LinkedIn production, you'll have to request LinkedIn to erase this preview data before making the synchronization of data on your Production environment. Otherwise you'll have both Production and Preview data sync to LinkedIn. Please raise a ticket to LinkedIn support to erase this data before making your production synchronization.

Field Mapping: Specific field mappings between LinkedIn and SuccessFactors Recruiting are fixed by default and cannot be changed. For more information please refer to the KBA LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect (RSC) - Not Possible to Change Field Mapping for Specific Fields.

Email Matching: The email of the recruiters in SuccessFactors must match the email of the recruiters LinkedIn account. If there is no match, several features will not work like the "View LinkedIn Profile" button from the workbench or the "One Click Export" from LinkedIn to SuccessFactors. It is therefore important to make sure all emails of recruiters between SF and LinkedIn are matching

KNOWN ISSUES

  • If you use different tenant URLs to connect to your SuccessFactors instance, while Enabling your LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect configuration, you could run into the following error "Unauthorized domain Please contact your partner system for further assistance.". Please follow the below steps to resolve : 
    1. As an admin, navigate to Admin Center.
    2. Go to Manage Data.
    3. Search for the object LinkedInDeveloperApplication.
    4. Click on Make Correction.
    5. Copy the domain URL and paste it into validSDKDomains. 
    6. The domain format should be as follows:["https://www.url1.com","https://www.url2.com","https://www.url3.com"
  • While enabling LinkedIn RSC, the following issue "Unauthorized Error" will pop up after clicking "Enable" LinkedIn Recruiting System Connect if you don't have a contract link to your LinkedIn Administrator account. Please make sure you are connected as an LinkedIn Administrator and that your LinkedIn account has either Recruiter Corporate or Recruiter Professional Services license. Also make sure you reviewed and accept.ed LinkedIn cookie policy.

LIMITATIONS

  • It is not possible to sync data from SuccessFactors Preview/Test environment to LinkedIn Preview environment.
  • Only Job Requisition and Candidate fields are available for mapping. Application field mapping is set by default in SuccessFactors system, there is no possibility to modify the mapping.
  • Several contracts can be selected per instance, however they must be link to the same company page. If contracts from different company pages are selected, LinkedIn will show an error message

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Q: Where the "Required" attribute comes from?
    • A: The fields as part of the mapping are going to be "Required" if they're required on LinkedIn side. This means it's not possible to make the field not required from SuccessFactors side.
  • Q: If the sync fails because some records don't have the required values, does it mean that the sync will fail for all records, or just the ones missing the data?
    • A: The sync only fails for the records that have missing required information. Other records with all required values are going to be synced.
  • Q: Is it possible to know which records have failed during the sync?
    • A: Currently no, however, a report will be introduced during Production release deployment with all records have been failed and what are the fields missing the required data.
  • Q: Which option should I select under "Candidate with Privacy Preference as" to sync all the candidates from SuccessFactors to LinkedIn?
    • A: You need to select "Only recruiters managing the jobs I apply to"
  • Q: Why don’t I see all fields in the mapping dropdown?
    • A: We only show common fields across all templates. If a field exists only in one specific template, it will not appear in the mapping list.
  • Q: What happen after clicking the Initiate Sync button in the LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect Sync configuration page?
    • A: Once the Initiate Sync button is triggered, both the Initiate Sync and Edit buttons are disabled for 24 hours. This prevents repeated changes or multiple sync triggers, which could otherwise overload the system or cause data inconsistencies.
  • Q: How the "Sync Permissions" enabled feature works?
    • A: Sync permissions replicates job requisition access on LinkedIn so that directly assigned operators and members of assigned permission groups have the same LinkedIn access, while users or groups not assigned in our system are denied access there.
