Symptom

Mass schedule maintenance plan job failed with message: "An error occurred. Please create an incident on component PM-PRM-MP."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Schedule a mass maintenance plan job in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.
  2. Observe the job log for the error: "An error occurred. Please create an incident on component PM-PRM-MP."

Cause

The job failed due to error: "Logon of user CB998XXXXXXX in client 100 failed when starting a step".

Resolution

  1. Open the "Maintain Business User" application in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.
  2. Search for the user CB998XXXXXXX.
  3. Update the "Valid to" date for the user CB998XXXXXXX to extend the validity period.
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Re-run the mass schedule maintenance plan job and monitor the job status to confirm the resolution.
