Symptom

  • Users encounter the error message: "Could not save the changes due to communication failure" when attempting to save a QuickModel.
  • The issue may also occur if users attempt to save a QuickModel in a shared folder they do not have access to.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a new Quick Model in SAP Signavio Process Manager.
  2. Attempt to save the model and observe the error message: "Could not save the changes due to communication failure".

Cause

  • Users attempt to save the Quick Model in a shared folder they do not have access to, causing the save operation to fail.

Resolution

  1. Ensure that the folder where the QuickModel is being saved is not empty.
  2. Ensure the user has appropriate access rights to the folder.
