3669836 - Error message no. V1108 - "Reorder point for item xxx has been exceeded"

While creating a new sales order/sales order with reference to a previous document and entering a material quantity that is higher than the material Reorder point, the system shows the error message below:

• Reorder point for item xxx has been exceeded
  Message no. V1108
  Diagnosis
  You have entered an unusually large quantity in item xxx .
  Materials management agreed on a reorder point for this material. Only after this quantity is exceeded, procurement for the material is initiated.
  Since the schedule line quantity exceeds the reorder point, it is possible that there is not enough stock at the time of delivery.
  Procedure
  Check whether you have entered the right quantity and whether the unit of measure is correct.
  Inform the materials management department about the large order quantity in item xxx, to ensure that the quantity entered for the item can be delivered.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Create a Sales Order in the Create Sales Order - VA01 app.
2. When entering line items, enter a quantity greater than the Reorder Point (The Reorder Point is found in the MRP procedure on the MRP1 tab for the specified material in application "Display Material - MM03".
3. See the error message appears.

The error message will be issued if the sales order quantity is greater than the reorder point.

This is irrespective of the available quantity in stock.

The reason for this reaction is that the reorder point should make sure that it is possible to deliver the requested quantities to the customers. 

The reorder point should be defined to be higher than the biggest sales order quantity. The ability to deliver could be endangered if the sales order quantity is higher than the reorder point. Therefore the warning message will be issued.

• Change the sales order quantity to a number lower than the reorder point of the specific material in the Create Sales Order - VA01 app.

or

• Change the reorder point value from the material to a higher number in the Change Material - MM02 app.
