3669928 - Service Order Created from a Contract is Not Included in the Order Statistics Calculation

Symptom

Order Statistics in the contact only considers the sales order created from the contract. The service order is not considered.

For example, contract ABC has been followed by a sales order XYZ and service order UVX.

The total of sales order XYZ: 100 USD.

The total of service order UVX: 200 USD.

In the contract ABC, the Ordered Amount in Order Statistics section is 100 USD which is from the follow up sales order only.

  • ABC represents the contract ID.
  • XYZ represents the sales order ID.
  • UVX represents the service order ID.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Go to the Contracts view.
  3. Open the contract ABC.
  4. In the General tab, in Order Statistics part, the Ordered Amount is 100 USD.
  5. From document flow tab, open the follow up sales order XYZ, the total is 100 USD. And open the service order UVX, the total is 200 USD.

Only total amount from sales order is considered in the Order Statistics calculation.

Cause

In the definition of the Order Statistics, system explains the follows:

  • You can specify a target amount for contracts with material items. If the total ordered amount for the contract exceeds the target then a warning is shown if you create order items with reference to this contract.
  • Current value of total ordered amount and open amount for the contract is also shown.

From this definition, it confirms that the statistics is for the material items which are included in the sales order(s) and have reference to contract items.

Hence, the follow-up service order for the service items is not considered.

Resolution

This is the current designed system behavior.
