3670108 - BOM Explosion Number in PIR does not influence Explosion Date in Planned Orders during MRP run

The BOM Explosion Number has been maintained in Planned Independent Requirements, however it does not influence the Explosion Date of the BOM in Planned Orders during the MRP run.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public edition

1. Refer to the Configuration Step 101174 – ‘Define BOM Explosion Control’, ensure that the BOM explosion number checkbox is selected for all relevant plants and verify the prerequisites for using BOM explosion numbers.
   
   
2. Confirm that the BOM Explosion Number is considered for make-to-order or engineer-to-order production, as per the F1 Help text of the ‘BOM Explosion Number’ field in the SSCUI 101174:
   
   

   “BOM Explosion Number (Make-to-Order Production)

   When you select this field, the system checks in the net calculation whether a BOM explosion number exists for the corresponding requirements.

   • If make-to-order or engineer-to-order production is concerned, this BOM explosion number is copied to the subsequently generated receipt elements.
   • The BOM explosion number is ignored for make-to-stock production.”
