Symptom
In SAP S/4HANA CLOUD PUBLIC EDITION 2508, while maintaining the certificate details in Saudi Aribia supplies, the system displays the error: “Maintain mandatory certificate for certificate ID XX and company code XXXX.” IDSAU_BP021.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a new supplier or modify an existing supplier using tools such as "Migration object for supplier" or applications other than the standard 'Maintain Business Partner' App.
- Assign Saudi Arabia-specific company code (YYYY) as an additional (second) company code to the supplier.
- Observe the error: Maintain mandatory certificate for certificate ID CR and company code YYYY.
Cause
- The 'Supplier Certificates' Functionality was enhanced in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2508 (effective date August 16, 2025) to enforce validation of mandatory certificates across all company codes assigned to a supplier.
- In this case, the supplier has an additional company code for Saudi Arabia, but the required CR certificate is not maintained for that company code. As a result, the system performs the validation and displays the error.
- This validation also applies when business partner master data is created or updated using tools such as 'Migration object for supplier'.
Resolution
- Maintain the mandatory certificate details issued by the Saudi Government for all company codes assigned to the supplier.
- Mark the CR certificate as exempted for the respective company code.
- Update the Certificate ID CR setting from 'Yes with Error' to 'Yes with Warning' in the Assign Certificate IDs configuration.
