Symptom

Error encountered when updating a custom condition type: "An access sequence is not defined for the header condition". The issue occurs when attempting to set an access sequence to a header condition.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Config ID 101120.
  2. Open Condition Type customized.
  3. Change Group Condition to active.
  4. Remove "Item Condition" setting.
  5. Observe the error: "An access sequence is not defined for the header condition".

Cause

This is system standard behavior. 

For technical reasons, an access sequence has not been allowed for a manually entered header condition.

 

Resolution

In order to avoid the issue, it can be considered  to tick the "Header Condition" and "Item Condition" at same time for the condition type.

After that, y the access sequence for the condition type.
