Symptom
While setting up an RFC connection, one of the following errors occurs on the RFC client side.
- Timeout occurred while establishing the connection to an ABAP system. Remote system accessed via destination XXX did not reply within 60 seconds.
- Timeout occurred while logging on to an ABAP system. Remote system [communication partner] did not reply within 60 seconds on handle [n/nnnnnnnn].

Environment
The errors in this document might occur in environments using RFC communication. For example:
- SAP Cloud Integration (LOD-HCI) wants to call RFC function modules in a backend ABAP system via SAP Cloud Connector.
- SAP Process Integration (BC-XI) wants to call RFC function modules via JCo.
- SAP Analytics Cloud (LOD-ANA) wants to call RFC function modules via JCo (SAP KBA 3131525).
- Any solution that uses JCo to call RFC function modules in a backend ABAP system (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA).
- Other RFC clients that are implemented by Java and JCo.
