3671767 - Error in position "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '_writable')" - 2H 2025

• When changing a field value on position, error "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '_writable')" is thrown
• Selecting 'OK' will allow you to bypass the error
• OnChange rules are configured on the affected fields

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Navigate to Position Org Chart
2. Edit or create a new position
3. Change some field values
4. Notice error appears on screen

• SAP Engineering team are working on a code fix for this issue.

• A patch fix is  scheduled on 2511p4 (11-Nov-2025).

Workaround

1. Disable any onChange rule on the affected field in Configure Object Definitions > Position > Affected Field > Details.
2. OR Go to Manage Configuration UI and create a new UI for position object without any UI rules. Attach this UI to Position object default screen. onChange rules on the object can remain. Replicate again with the new UI and see the error no longer occurs.
